Mater Dei’s Eden Murray earned sprinter of the meet honors.
Murray’s time of 11.68 seconds in the 100 meters is a meet record and the second fastest time in Orange County history. She was two-tenths of a second behind Western’s Carol Rodriguez’s OC record time of 11.66 set in 2003.
“It is a great way to end my OC champs’ career,” said Murray, a Southern Methodist University commit. “So, I’m excited about that. “I’ve been working really hard so it is good to see my work paying off.”
Murray came back later in the meet to win the 200 in 24.26 and anchored the Monarchs’ first-place finish in the 4×100 relay.
“We are finally clicking,” Murray said. “This is a new group of girls so it is good to see that our marks are working and we are able to win big meets like this.”
